Privacy policy

MobPOS is billing, stock and accounts software for shops. This policy explains what information MobPOS stores when you use it, why, where it is kept, who can see it, and how you can have it deleted. What we store

Your Google account details. When you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address, Google account ID and, if your account has one, your profile picture. We use them only to know who you are and which shop is yours.
Your shop's data. What you and your staff enter in MobPOS: the shop's name, phone and city; customers and suppliers (names, phone numbers, addresses, balances); items and stock; bills, returns, receipts, payments, cash counts and accounts; and your staff's names and permissions.
PINs. The owner's and staff's PINs are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form, never as typed.
Your devices. For each PC and phone you set up: its name, whether it is a PC or a phone, its system, the MobPOS version, when it was last online, and short problem reports when something goes wrong.
Your subscription. Your plan, its dates and the payments you make for it.

Why we store it

To run MobPOS for you: keep your bills on the shop's PC, copy them to the cloud, and show them on your phone.
To keep your data safe: so it can be restored if a PC fails.
To manage your subscription and the number of devices your plan allows.
To help you when you contact us, and to find and fix problems.

We do not sell your information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone for their own use.

Information from Google

MobPOS asks Google only for your basic profile (name, email address and profile picture) to sign you in. It does not ask for, and cannot see, your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts or anything else in your Google account.

MobPOS's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Where it is kept

On your shop's PC, and in the backup folder you choose for it.
In our cloud database, provided by Supabase, a cloud database service. Its servers may be outside Pakistan.
On your phones, which keep a copy of the shop to show it, also when offline.

Information travels between your devices and the cloud over encrypted connections. In the cloud, each shop can see only its own data.

Who can see it

You, the shop owner, on your PC and phones; and your staff on the shop's PC, as far as the permissions you give them allow.
We, MobPOS, to run the service, manage subscriptions and help you when you ask.
The services MobPOS is built on: Supabase (database and sign-in) and Google (sign-in), only to provide those services.
Authorities, only if the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Your account and your shop's data are kept while your account is open, including after a subscription ends, so you can carry on where you left off. Device problem reports are kept for 30 days. Backups on your PC are kept as MobPOS describes in its settings (the last hour, 30 days and 12 months).

Deleting your data

You can ask us to delete your shop and account at any time, by email or WhatsApp from the email address or phone number you use with MobPOS. We delete it from the cloud within 30 days and confirm when it is done. Removing a device in MobPOS clears the shop's data from that device. Copies in your PC's backup folder are yours to keep or delete.

Children

MobPOS is for shop owners and their staff. It is not meant for children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we update the date at the top. For important changes we tell shop owners in MobPOS or by email first.
